Outdoor Therapy
Outdoor Therapy
I offer a nature-based, relational approach that supports reconnection, presence, and emotional regulation. You might be feeling overwhelmed, disconnected from yourself, stuck in old patterns, or simply aware that something needs to shift. Working outdoors can help you slow down, breathe more fully, and reconnect with yourself, with others, and with the wider living world.
Ecological Transactional Analysis
My outdoor therapy work is informed by ecological Transactional Analysis, an approach that understands our emotional and psychological wellbeing as deeply shaped by our relationships, not only with other people, but also with place, environment, and the more-than-human world.
Ecological TA recognises that healing does not happen in isolation. When we step outside, our nervous systems often soften, our perspective widens, and new ways of being become possible.
What Outdoor Therapy Can Help With
Outdoor therapy can support you if you are experiencing:
-
Stress, burnout, or emotional overload
-
A sense of disconnection from yourself or your life direction
-
Low mood, anxiety, or loss of vitality
-
Difficulty slowing down or feeling present
-
A desire for a more embodied, nature-connected therapeutic process
This work is not about “fixing” you. It is about creating the conditions in which regulation, insight, and reconnection can naturally emerge.
How Ecological TA Supports the Work
Nature becomes an active participant in the therapy, offering grounding, metaphor, rhythm, and perspective. Together, we may explore:
-
Where vitality and agency feel blocked, and where they can be restored
-
New, more life-affirming ways of being in relationship with yourself and the world
How I Work as an Outdoor Therapist
Sessions are gently structured and responsive to what emerges in the moment. I will support you to notice bodily sensations, emotional responses, and relational patterns as they arise, using both dialogue and the outdoor environment as part of the therapeutic process.
I aim to offer a space that is:
-
Grounded
-
Attuned
-
Respectful of your pace and needs
Fees
Initial session (60 minutes): £60
Block of 6 sessions: £360
If you decide to continue after the initial session, I offer sessions in blocks of six. The first block costs £360 and is paid in advance. We would agree on a regular weekly time that is mutually convenient and reserved for you. After 6 sessions, we would review and you can decide if you'd like to continue with further sessions. Some people access counselling for short-term and others find long-term therapy is more suited to their needs. Please note at least one session will take place indoors initially to assess suitability of outdoor therapy.
